Welcome to the official website for author, Stacey Graham.
Between raising five small daughters and hunting ghosts in drafty attics, I write children's picture books and magazine articles, ghost stories for children and grown-ups and am currently working on my first novel.
Some call it ADD - I call it multi-tasking.
I was born outside of Detroit, Michigan, smack dab in
the middle of the free lovin' hippie movement.
Moving to northern California at a young age, I barely
remember the Motor City except for being caught in an
apple tree. Don't ask how I got up there, my
parents refuse to talk.
An early writer,
my first venture into authorship started after jotting
down a barely-memorable essay involving camping and a
rabid bear. I won a county-wide writing
competition in sixth grade and have been searching for
that good luck bear ever since. Well not
really. It wouldn't fit in my townhouse.
Soon after
earning degrees in Archaeology and History from Oregon
State University, I married and started creating fodder
for humor columns rapidly thereafter. Many
children later, I have slowed down enough to write
words that are longer than four letters and hope to do
more writing than sign permission slips for Brownie trips.
My experience
with ghosts started in college, a term paper sparking
the imagination and after exhausting research I
discovered that I knew nothing more than what I started
with -- a fascination for things no one could
understand. Twenty years (and many attics) later,
I continue to talk with people around the world about
how to deal with what they cannot see and barely
recognize as viable.
